Loch Kelly, is a meditation teacher, licensed psychotherapist, and author of Shift Into Freedom: The Science and Practice of Open-Hearted Awareness and The Way of Effortless Mindfulness: A Revolutionary Guide for Living an Awakened Life.


Mr. Kelly, MDiv LCSW received a BA in English Literature from Colgate University and joint Masters Degrees in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and a M.Div in Psychiatry and Religion from Union Theological Seminary Seminary.


He studied Insight Meditation, Advaita Vedanta, and Tibetan Buddhism in Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal. In Nepal he was introduced to the direct practice of Effortless Mindfulness, through Dzogchen and Mahamudra teacher Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche.


Loch has studied extensively with Mingyur Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche and was invited to teach nondual meditation by Adyashanti.


Loch’s approach is referenced in the work of Richard Schwartz, founder of IFS therapy.
